Two years back a friend of mine had purchased a cell phone from
a not very known company then called MICROMAX. I vividly remember how much fun
we had made of him for buying a CHINESE mobile.
But what happened since then is History!
Proving millions wrong this INDIAN brand (YES Micromax is an
Indian Manufacturer) has established itself in the market and has emerged out
to be a fierce competitor to the bigwigs like Nokia and Samsung. And also
remains the key player in the Budget Phone arena.
While the Canvas
series took Micromax to an all new level, Micromax Canvas 4 is the youngest
member of the Canvas family. Though youngest it proves to be the Big daddy of
all.
This phone with 1.2GHz Quad core processor comes with an Aluminum
body which the company claims that significantly amplifies signal reception. With
a 5 inch screen and a 13 Megapixel Camera this phone runs on the Jelly Bean (version
4.2.1) operating system of Android which till date is the latest and can be
called the best.
Micromax has provided a few new features like unlocking the
screen with simply blowing air on the screen. A video being played pauses as
soon as the user looks away from the screen. Multiple Windows for multitasking
is just another feature. (Well to be very frank all these features maybe called
as a USP are not really needed in routine operations).
Now the most important, the Price factor! Priced at 17,999/-
this is really a value for money phone. Because it offers you almost all the
features which the phones like Samsung Galaxy SIII or the Note 2 offer and that
to at half their price. But Micromax is known for making phones which cost
below 15k. But will the market accept an 18k phone from the company that only
time will tell.
With no mention of the Brand name on the front panel, one
may misjudge it as a Samsung Galaxy S4. But this is just to show the similarity
between the two phones. Anyways Canvas4 is bit heavier that S4. But does that
really matter if the phone is in your budget?
Also, in its novel marketing campaign, Micromax had launched
the Pre-online booking of this phone without even revealing the tech specs of
the device. Around Eleven Thousand odd people booked this phone in a very short
span of time. This is what is called as faith which the company has been
successful in establishing.
It’s indeed a very good going Micromax but now what lies ahead
is a challenge-To sustain this image and come out with an innovation every
single time.
